Scan cards

The Cascade apps for iOS and Android scan cards with the camera and add them to your collection, a deck or a list. The website does not scan cards, but the cards that you scan show up there too.

Scan your cards

  1. Open your inventory, a deck or a list in the app, tap the plus button, then tap “Scan cards”. The first time, allow Cascade to use the camera.
  2. Hold the card inside the brackets and tap anywhere on the screen. Each tap scans one card and adds it to the “Scans” list.
  3. Check the list. Rows marked “Check card” or “Check version” need a look, and “Unrecognized” rows could not be read: delete them and scan again.
  4. Tap “Import cards” to add the cards.

The cards go to the place where you opened the scanner. When you scan into a deck or a list, the settings button of the scanner can add the cards to your inventory too. In a deck, you also choose the section for each card, such as the sideboard.

Change the printing, finish or language

The scanner can choose another printing of the same card. Tap the row in the “Scans” list, then use “Change version” to choose the right set and collector number. There you can also change the quantity, the finish (such as foil or etched) and the language, when the card exists in more than one.

To correct a card that you already imported, open it in your inventory and edit it: you can change the quantity, the set, the language and the finish.

Get better scans

Scan one card at a time, with the whole card inside the brackets, in even light without glare. If the scanner reads the wrong language, choose the card language at the top right instead of “Auto-detect”. The info button of the scanner shows more tips.

Scanning with Premium

Without Premium, the scanner reads one card at a time, with a short pause after each scan. With Premium, it reads several cards at the same time without the pause, and you can choose the “Balanced” or the “Fast” preset at the top right.

Internet connection

Scanning needs an internet connection, because Cascade matches each card on its server. If you leave the scanner before you import, Cascade asks you first: the scanned cards are not saved.
